Refined Existing Vegetation Type (EVT) based on local feedback. Remapped Existing Vegetation Cover (EVC) and Height (EVH) in forested areas. BPS layer refined in western rangelands using Soil Survey Geographic Database (SSURGO) |
Started with LF_1.0.5 and incorporated disturbances (fire, vegetation management, weather, etc.) & succession through 2008. |
Version numbers consist of three version fields - major, minor, and update. For example, LF_3.1.1 would indicate: major version 3, minor version 1 of 3, and update version 1 of 3.1.
- A major version represents significant change.
- A minor version is an enhancement to the major version with moderate change.
- An update version represents relatively small change or adjustments.
Major, minor, or update changes may be important to particular organizations or applications depending on the value added benefits of the new version. Understand the strengths and limitations of the data sets or versions as this determines their applicability for a given analysis or application.
