Wildfire Risk to Communities | A free, easy-to-use website with interactive maps, charts, and resources to help communities understand, explore, and reduce wildfire risk. It was created by the USDA Forest Service under the direction of Congress and is designed to help community leaders, such as elected officials, community planners, and fire managers. This is the first time wildfire risk to communities has been mapped nationwide. |
The CompareModelsFour spreadsheet allows a user to make quick, simple comparisons of the new fuel models with each other and with the original 13 fuel models. | |
Updated - Compare fuel models spreadsheet-Joe Scott | Users can add custom fuel models to the list in the CompareModelsFour spreadsheet. The original spreadsheet was updated to incorporate fuel model numbers and fuel model codes, a simple model of wind adjustment factor for each fuel model or for different canopy cover values, conversion of the X-axis to the 20-ft wind speed from the midflame height, and the addition of Rothermel's crown fire rate of spread as a "fuel model" on the chart. |
