How to Participate ›› Field Reference Database ›› Acknowledgements

Over 1,000,000 geo-referenced vegetation or fuel records have been acquired from throughout the U.S. to support the development of LANDFIRE National products. These reference data were provided by federal and non-federal entities, often working in collaboration. We are grateful to all who have shared their data; they have been a vital part of LANDFIRE.

Fifty-five percent of the contributed data represent areas owned or managed by non-federal entities, including state, tribal, and private institutions. The remaining 45% represent federal lands, as indicated by the pie charts below. Click on the name of a federal land administrator in the legend of the lower-left chart to download a list of areas under its jurisdiction from which we have acquired data.
